Originally from Ohio, I earned my BA from the University of Cincinnati, then traveled to Turkey and Denmark, where I taught English and volunteered with refugees and asylum seekers. I worked for many years in immigration law in the San Francisco Bay Area before returning to language education.
Areas of interest
I am particularly interested in exploring the language classroom as a site for interpersonal peace building.
I am compiling an open access e-booklet of activities for the English language classroom that integrate peace education content and peace building sub-skills like perspective-taking and deep listening. This will be a free and practical resource for English teachers.
